Boston EMTs Help South End Mom Avoid 2nd Hallway Delivery
Tina Marie Stewart and Chris Mancuso arrived to find an expecting mom about to deliver.
“She was coming down the stairs all ready to go. She stopped, and my partner said, ‘You don’t want to deliver in the hallway, do you?’” Stewart told WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Carl Stevens.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Carl Stevens reports
Stewart and Mancuso managed to get the new mom, who was not identified, into the ambulance on the side of Massachusetts Ave., but that’s as far as they’d make it.
“She was really calm. She rested when she needed to. She pushed when she needed to,” Mancuso said.
At 5:04 a.m., they helped deliver a healthy baby boy.
Once the delivery was over, mom and son were transported to the hospital, where they’ll spend the next couple of days.
“It was just pure joy to do something that was – to bring life into the world and see something so nice, different from what we have to deal with on a daily basis,” Stewart said.
Believe it or not, the woman told Stewart it’s actually the second time that EMTs have had to deliver one of her babies. Her first, delivered by different EMTs, was actually in the hallway that Mancuso referenced on the way out to the ambulance.

Youth Missions
April 10th-20th,
Alyssa Hallinan, TJ Vazquez, Nathan Vazquez and Kessler Bonhuer will be going to Belize, on a
missions trip with their class from South Shore Christian Academy. They will be
sharing the good news of Jesus Christ in two poor rural villages. Over the last
several years the school has established relationships there. Previous teams
have built several school buildings and two medical clinics. This year they
will be adding to this, doing building projects run by Pathlight Christian Ministries and medical ministry run by Dr. Fred Murray and a team of nurses in
one of the clinics built by a previous SSCA team.
We are so proud of these young men and women
who are sacrificing their time and resources in obedience to The Great Commission. While it is awesome that Alyssa, TJ, Nathan and Kessler have decided to go
it is no less important to mention that without godly adults to go with them
this trip would be impossible. Tim Vazquez and Suze Bonhuer will be going with
them as leaders. Please keep them in
your Prayers as they prepare go both spiritually and financially.
